GameDaily Review: Warhawk - Playstation 3
by Chris Buffa on Friday, August 31, 2007
Warhawk provides the online experience PlayStation 3 owners need; an intense shooter with enormous maps, support for up to 32 players and tons of weapons. Not only is it a centerpiece for the hardware, thanks to gorgeous visuals and amazing draw distances, but it also consumes hours of your life. It has a great "just one more game" feeling, and has taking to the skies to decimate your enemies ASAP.
Available for download through the PlayStation Network ($39.99) or on Blu-ray ($59.99 and comes with a wireless Jabra headset), Warhawk offers a Battlefield-esque experience in which teams (or every man for himself) attempt to dominate one of five maps. To do this, you have a plethora of options at your disposal. You can take the fight to the ground, annihilating enemies with anti-aircraft guns, ferrying comrades in a jeep, picking off fools with a sniper rifle or blowing things to hell in a tank. In addition, you can jump into the cockpit of a Warhawk, a bad ass plane capable of turning other vehicles into flaming piles of crap.....

Warhawk Gameplay
Warhawk is primarily a third-person shooter, with eight weapons, two ground vehicles , three air vehicles, and three turrets available to the player. The storyline behind the game is that the player takes part in the never-ending war between the Eucadian and Chernovan armies (blue and red team, respectively), and there is no further storyline or back-story provided. The game uses the PlayStation 3 SIXAXIS controller's motion sensing capabilities, allowing players to control aircraft and ground vehicles by tilting the controller in different directions rather than the more conventional methods of using the D-pad or analog sticks. However, a traditional control scheme is an option. The game engine features procedurally-generated water and waves, as well as volumetric clouds. Warhawk features 32-player online battles, with the ability to have 4 players use one PlayStation 3 in split-screen mode on servers that are configured to allow it. Any player can enter or exit the game while a match is in progress..... Description continues at Wikipedia.
